Today’s recipe is a super kid friendly one. Pizza is one of the most popular foods in this country and it is enjoyed by people of all ages. I know that the local carry out pizza restaurant by me is always busy.
Making pizza at home can seem intimidating with the making of the dough. The proper yeast, rising, temperature, and then tossing the dough into the perfect shape keeps many people from attempting this at home.
There is certainly an easier way to make pizza though and one that your children will love to do themselves. Using English muffins or bagels as the base of your pizza is a fun way to let them make their own mini pizza. All of the ingredients necessary can be found at your grocery store, so all they will need to do is assemble them.
1 bagel or English muffin
2 Tablespoons of pizza sauce
1/3 cup mozzarella cheese
other toppings
Preheat your oven or toaster oven to 350 degrees. Slice the bagel or English muffin in half and lay on a cookie sheet. Let your child top with the pizza sauce, cheese and any other toppings that they like. Place in the oven and bake for 5 to 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted and starting to turn light brown. Allow to cool slightly and then enjoy.
Please remember to supervise your children while they are making these. While assembling is easy, there is a hot oven and sharp knife involved. You should handle the task of cutting the bagel or muffin and placing and removing the cookie sheet from the oven.
Do your children love pizza? Have they ever had the chance to make their own? This is a fun lunch that your children will really look forward to.
Warmly,
Mia

Great idea. My daughter LOVES to cook with me. It’s her favorite part of the day. We’ll try some of these this week.
